Prayer For The Nations By Evangelist Sam Biggers

March 19, 2018 – Please pray for Ghana

Ghana is located along the Gulf of Guinea and Atlantic Ocean, in the sub-region of West Africa. Ghana is bordered by the Ivory Coast in the west, Burkina Faso in the north, Togo in the east and the Gulf of Guinea and Atlantic Ocean in the south.

A multicultural nation, Ghana has a population of approximately 29 million spanning a variety of ethnic, linguistic and religious groups. Five percent of the population practices traditional faiths, 71.2% adhere to Christianity and 17.6% are Muslim. The Christian groups include Pentecostal / Charismatic 28.3%, Protestant 18.4%, Catholic 13.1% and other Christians 11.4%.

The above are from en.wikipedia.org. These statements have not been fact-checked and are only used here to help us gain a better understanding of this nation.

The population of approximately 29 million is a vast number of souls who need the prayers of God’s people – both those who are serving the Lord and those who do not have a relationship with Him.

We are called to pray for the nations, not read information. Knowing some of the background and culture of a nation is good information. However, pray warriors don’t need a lot of information – they need to be rallied to pray and they already know prayers guided by the Holy Spirit are distinctly different from ordinary prayers to strike a blow directly upon the enemy of the family of God.

To this end, I purposely limited what I share in order that time is not wasted in reading facts and figures. I simply request those who pray for the nations to spend quality time in pray for Ghana. As we read, there are a number of Christians within Ghana. Let us pray together for their strength to grow and their influence will be enlarged.

1. Pray for the youth of this nation. I continue to believe this age group is where revival is going to emerge to affect the nations.

2. Pray for the spiritual leaders of the churches and within the government.

3. Pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to bless Ghana and that the nation will be a light to the world.
