Prayer For The Nations By Evangelist Sam Biggers

February 14, 2018 – Please pray for Croatia

Croatia is a country situated at the crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe, on the Adriatic Sea. It is bordered by Hungary to the northeast, Serbia to the east, Bosnia and Herzegovina to the southeast, Montenegro to the southeast, the Adriatic Sea to the southwest and Slovenia to the northwest. Its capital city is Zagreb.

Most of Croatia has a moderately warm and rainy continental climate. The warmest areas of Croatia are at the Adriatic coast and especially in its immediate hinterland characterized by the Mediterranean climate, as the temperature highs are moderated by the sea.

The population of Croatia is approximately 4.28 million. It is classified as a high-income economy by the United Nations. Croatia is ranked as 125th in population in the world.

Croatia has no official religion. Freedom of religion is a right defined by the Constitution which also defines all religious communities as equal in front of the law and separated from the state.

According to the 2011 census, 91.36% of Croatians identify as Christian; of these, Roman Catholics make up the largest group, accounting for 86.28% of the population, after which follows Eastern Orthodoxy (4.44%), Protestantism (0.34%) and other Christianity (0.30%). The second largest religion is Islam (1.47%). 4.57% of the population describes themselves as non-religious.

In a 2009 Gallup poll, 70% answered yes to the question “Is religion an important part of your daily life?” However, only 24% of the population attends religious services regularly.

The above are from en.wikipedia.org. These statements have not been fact-checked and are only used here to help us gain a better understanding of this nation.

Due to lack of time I confess I have not done extensive research on Croatia. We know there is much religion in the world and many tie their religion to Christianity without an understanding of what it requires to live an authentic Christian lifestyle. We are not here to criticize but to pray for the nations.

1. Pray for those who are faithful in the daily walk with Jesus to allow the light of peace to shine bright for Christ.

2. Pray for the spiritual leaders and the national leaders of Croatia.

3. Pray the Lord will guide you as you pray for this nation. He will give you the right burden you are to faithfully carry to God in prayer for each nation.
